Second Life Down Under

CEO Sheryle Moon has posted a useful reminder to her fellow Australians of why they should be paying close attention to Second Life. Her tour of the horizon seen through the Australian economy adds a nice punch to a tight and lucid review.

It’s 438 words, you can do it:
Don’t ignore Second Life

Gone are the days when a business can disregard an emerging technology until it is completely mature. As Gartner’s distinguished analyst Steve Prentice warns, “don’t ignore this trend. It will have a significant impact on your enterprise during the next five years.”

I like to read commentary from Oz because the Australians seem to be more aware of their own country and economy as it falls within the larger world. Americans, bless ‘em, tend to take the US scene as being essentially the world.

But comparison, a lost art in America since the eclipsing of the old country, still seems to be a valid exercise in Oz, and this keeps thinking nimble I suspect.
